Artifact 2- Amazon River

As my second artifact, I chose my multimedia google slides to improve a previous obsolete power point presentation about the Amazon River. I included existing information provided by district curriculum; I added updated videos and pictures that students can access when learning about the life on the Amazon River.
One item that I normally don’t include was the citation piece at the end of my presentation.

While using google slides, I learned how to hyperlink a web site into words, videos,  and pictures. I also learned how to attach my slide presentation to my google site.  Having this presentation on my google site will help me become more organized and it will help my students to have access to content.   I hope to use slides as a sharing tool with my students where they share information about a given animal with the purpose of creating a whole class book.

Before foundations of technology class, I really didn’t pay attention to give credit to other people pictures and videos. I used to show videos without mentioning the author or even explain students were the resource came from. After reading fair use articles and using some of the videos, pictures, and content in this project, now I am more careful about giving credit in my presentation to the authors of the pictures and videos I used for this presentation.

I want to use slides to make my lessons more interactive and relevant to my students. Another way to use this application is to share with other first-grade teachers around the district to expand and improve our practice.

My name is Tulia Golden, I teach first-grade Dual Language Immersion (DL) Spanish in Naperville District 203. I started teaching first grade DL in 2010. I am excited to learn more about technology. I want to become😃 more comfortable using it in my lessons and with my students.  My school district Technology Initiative is to become 2:1 iPods for grades K-1 and 1:1 Chrome books for grade 2 to 12th.
